About Us

Purbeck Shooting School was established in 1995 and is set in the heart of Hardy’s Wessex. The site occupies some 80 acres and is known as one of the most picturesque sites in the country and was once voted shooting ground of the year. Since that time the ground has been greatly improved with further investment, now most shooting positions have multiple machines with a vast and ever-changing target presentation.

The unique contours of the site allow for the most naturalistic target presentation with many of our machines hidden from view, targets seem to appear from nowhere. If you are a game shooter then it is the ideal place to get a pre-season warm up and get your eye in. For the regular clay enthusiast then there will always be something here to whet your appetite. Many of our teaching stands are under cover so bad weather is never an issue and with more work ongoing there is always something new to be seen. We are still planning even more improvements and hopefully if on target the ground will be totally wheelchair friendly.

In 2020 we will be celebrating 25 years, so why not join us as we move closer to that date and enjoy a very unique and friendly facility with lots to offer and even more coming soon.
